rational, logical, sequential process intended to solve problems.

It's funny that, something just crossed my mind - as product designer I
can say I am a designer of all things!!! From 3D products to database
and more. Now I would never claim to be all that would I! However if I
am asked to tackle any problem I would always apply the lessons I
studied and generally they always work. Anyone from IDEO, Frog or any
product design house like to comment?

If we think about that we can generally say anyone who applies rational,
logical, sequential process intended to solve problems a designer - the
designer in you may disagree as your title is generalised even more. And
don't forget there is good and bad design in products - did you do
enough research, spend enough time on the drawing board or is the
manufacturing/programming to long and complex?

While studying design tutors/people were much loathed to define its term
since as many of you have pointed out it is too broad and has to some
extent be bastardised in today's terms. The designer coffee pot,
designer wallpaper etc.

The fact we don't use design in IA or Programmer or Craftsman or
Architect etc, does not mean they are not designers.

A combination of everyone on a team leads to a well designed product and
we can say each person within their field has designed a good solution
to meet their objectives etc.

I thought I would just say that.
