Greetings All!
I’m reaching out to let you know about 2 open visual design contracts I have in Irvine. These are onsite only engagements so they are not able to entertain telecommuting.
One is for a senior level Visual Designer/AD and the other is a mid level VD. The description below is for the lead role but the midlevel will be doing similar duties more in line with a midlevel skill set.
The Lead Visual Designer’s primary mission is to execute the visual development of key strategic projects through scalable, consistent designs that deliver against our user-centered goals, brand identity and business strategy.
Position responsibilities:
* Lead the creation and execution of visual designs for my clients online products and services, ensuring they are appealing, engaging, and useful.
* Collaborate with other designers, copywriters, user researchers, product managers and developers to articulate clear rationales for design directions and solutions.
* Advocate for appropriate visual design across the company and represent the design perspective in cross-functional work.
* Derive visual principles from successful designs. Evolve these principles and communicate them for other team-members to apply.
* Identify and exploit opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of my clients design processes.
* Provide limited supervision to others through motivation, direction, review and feedback of assigned tasks.
* Supervise work through the planning and scheduling of work, and the review and approval of tasks.
* Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential skills, knowledge and abilities:
* Professional experience collaborating in a team environment on large-scale Web site development projects.
* Thorough understanding of best practices in Web design and user interface/information architecture conventions.
* In-depth knowledge of typography, page/screen layout, composition and color theory.
* Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Utilize complex computer operations (intermediate programming in 3rd and 4th generation languages, relational databases, and operating systems) and advanced features of software packages (word-processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.).
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
* Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
If you or someone you know are interested in learning more, a recent resume emailed to me with available times to chat will help get things rolling.
Much thanks!
Laura
