Announcing "*Level Up: The savvy IA's way to getting measurably
better*<http://iasummit.org/2009/program/pre-con/level-up-the-savvy-ias-way-to-getting-measurably-better/>"
a workshop where everyone wins. This one-day-only spectacular is a
revolutionary learning experience delivered by the team that has brought you
the innovative performance-as-presentation IA SLAM for the last five years.

Folks, *let's be honest*: we all want to get ahead and none of us wants to
be 'below the line' when it comes time for layoffs. Do you know what it
takes to survive and even grow your career when the rest of the office is
going into panic mode? Can you add value in any situation and become the
'ace' your boss wants beside her when the chips are down? Fear not, we are
here to help you achieve those goals.

We've specially formulated "*Level Up*" to help help you become a highly
prized, fully sustainable IA. Our goal is to teach you the skills you need
to stay on the island and play for the million bucks. We teach you the
elements of building your own brand without becoming obnoxious. Let's face
it, if you are going to promote yourself, you need to be able to deliver the
goods. *No one wants to be the Sarah Palin of IA.*

If you want to learn how to write a resume or be told why you should never
wear a fragrance to an interview or be coached on the latest buzzwords in
the hope of scoring big at bingo then this is NOT the place to be.

On the other hand, if you are ready to *stop sweating the small stuff and
learn to love interesting times*, if you want to move ahead when the world
is falling behind, if you are committed to changing yourself and your world,
then this is the pre-conference workshop you've been waiting for.

Let us show you how to:

   - Understand the process of creativity
   - Produce unexpected solutions on demand
   - Move from Competent to Brilliant
   - Present anything to anyone
   - Build rapport with clients and colleagues
   - Entertain and stimulate an audience

Here's some background on us:

In 2000, *Eric Reiss* had just been fired from an ad agency for wasting time
on IA instead of writing copy. Today, he is CEO of the FatDUX Group, a
user-experience company with subsidiaries in Copenhagen, London, Hamburg,
Cracow, and Los Angeles. And following a two-year stint as President of the
Information Architecture Institute, he was appointed Associate Professor of
Usability and Design at the IE Business School in Madrid, Spain (ranked as
one of the world's top six business schools by the Financial Times).

In 2001, *Lynn Boyden* was playing Survivor on the Titanic at a punkass
webshop. In 2009, she heads FatDUX Los Angeles with responsibility for a
diverse North American client portfolio and teaches Information Architecture
in the UCLA library school masters program.

In 2001, *Matt Fetchko* was an instructor at New York University. Today, he
is a Director at AllianceBernstein, one of the world's leading financial
advisories, responsible for their retail web strategy.

In 1999, *Chris Chandler* was a 98 lb UX weakling working for a boutique
agency that went out of business as his wife turned 6 months pregnant. 10
years later, he is Director of Creative Development for Walt Disney Parks
and Resorts Online, responsible for delivering multi-million dollar
experiences that are functional, usable and magical.

But wait, there's more!!!

If you act now, the magic won't stop in Memphis. Everyone who attends *Level
Up* will receive one full hour of UX mentoring from each of us. That's *FOUR
FREE hours* of mentoring and coaching that you can use anytime between now
and the next conference (and time spent chatting at the Peabody bar does not
count against your minutes). Think of it as your specialized "Call a Friend
Lifeline" to be used when YOU need it.

Ready to prepare yourself for the challenges ahead? Sign up now!
