My client in Midtown is seeking a Senior Manager User Experience Strategist
for their UX practice.  Must haves are strong client facing skills and the
ability to facilitate usability sessions as well as oversee vendors and
negotiations.  This is a client side role within a team of 4 reporting to
the Director of UX.  The salary is open based on experience and below is a
detailed job description.  This position is a critical fill for my client
and they are looking to staff it very soon.

User Experience Strategist

Seeking an analytic problem solver who can synthesize many forms of research
and business requirements into informational, navigational and web
page/application strategy, design and specifications. Works with clients to
understand their business models and goals and helps define a strategy and
approach for the development of their technology solutions.

 

This role will lead all business and functional analysis activities, and
fulfill various roles on a diverse range of technology projects. Some of the
key roles will be:   

.        Strategist and liaison to core business areas and technology
partners

.        Serving as an advisor in the development of business cases, project
approach planning, strategy and outsourcing. 

.        Acting as a manager overseeing external vendors and contractors.  

.        Acting as a contributor and project resource. 

 

Job Duties

 

.        Manages the development, design and delivery of user experience
strategies on projects with both company and selected vendor resources. 

.        Manages UE efforts for applications that have a primarily internal
(vs. customer-facing) audience 

.        Leads participatory design sessions (paper/interactive) and
contextual evaluations to provide client groups with UE and UI expertise and
guidance 

.        Guides team through user-centered research methods matching
methodology to need

.        Conceptualizes user experience design solutions in online
environments

.        Analyses and interprets both quantitative and qualitative data to
make design recommendations based on test results, usability standards, and
best practices

.        Directs and guides user testing, usability testing and product
evaluations with mockups and prototypes

.        Documents user research findings and analyses

.        Develops concept models and prototypes to help align clients on
envisioned solutions 

.        Gathers user requirements and translates business requirements
into, user flows, site maps, page flows, storyboards and user interface
specifications

.        Serves as a human factors/usability expert

.        Ensures consistency across solutions delivered by the organization
by contributing to the development and application of user experience design
standards

.        Oversees specialist UE vendors, ensuring requirements, development,
user testing, and visual designs comply with company's user experience
standards

.        Serves as an advisor on the design and implementation of
functionality as captured 

.        May be involved in advocating and practicing UX competencies and
processes across the company's IT organization

Qualifications:

.         Interaction Design, Industrial Design, or Human Computer
Interaction degree (or equivalent experience) 

.         Ideally 5+ years UX design experience, 3+ years online design
experience, 3+ years consulting experience, 3+ years of management
experience, 1+ years usability inspection methods experience, 1+ years user
centered design research methods experience, and 1+ years conducting
usability assessments and user interviews 

.         Effective at advocating the UE approach across the technology and
internal client organizations 

.         Proven ability to influence and build strategic working
relationships with senior clients, peers and vendors regardless of seniority
or organizational boundaries 

.         Demonstrated experience with usability engineering & testing,
information architecture, interaction design, user research techniques, and
conceptual modeling 

.         Proven expertise in effective client relations and vendor
management

.         Proven ability to interpret and communicate technical information
into business language and vice versa

.         Experience with designing user experiences for Marketing Websites,
transactional web-based applications, CRM solutions, Call Center
applications, Sales Force Automation, Web Portals, Knowledge Management
systems, Dashboards, and/or Business Intelligence packages is favored
