[Sigia-l] Pink, revisited

The association with the pink triangle and the gay community has to go
back to the holocaust where the germans made the known gays wear a pink
triangle. I wouldn't say that because someone is gay they automatically
like pink.

The reality of this pink issue has to do with how we raise our children.
When women have babies, we immediately associate pink for the girls and
blue for the boys; why not change this and not worry about color coding
our children...

Ooh, me too.

re: Pink

There's also the association of pink with the gay, lesbian and bi
groups. Although it's an emblem, is it also worn as a statement?

I googled for pink:

  http://www.pinkmagazine.com/
"finally, a magazine for professional women"

  http://www.pinkpaper.com/pinkpaper/

  http://www.thinkbeforeyoupink.org/
a project of Breast Cancer Action

  http://www.thepinksofa.com/
"Lesbian dating, lesbian chat, lesbian community"

  http://pinkpagesnet.com/
  Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Directory

  http://www.pink-world.co.uk/
"home of Lola Love and Think Pink"

  http://www.thenewpink.co.uk/
"keep up to date with all the latest girly gossip"

  http://www.shoppinkstore.com/
"shop for the cure" (breast cancer)

And, of course, there's the Pink Panther and Pink Floyd.
