[Sigia-l] Green Card process

An IA on my staff is in the process of applying for a Green Card. As her
manager I'm working with HR and outside counsel to shepherd this thing
through. One of the issues, of course, is that this role, or any other UX
role for that matter, does not fit neatly into any of the preexisting job
categories. I won't go into the gory details, because if you've been through
it you'll know what I mean.

What I'm hoping someone out there can help me with, especially if you are in
Illinois, is providing me with any useful insights into how you navigated
the public job posting task in the Green Card application process. I'm
particularly interested in experiences related to roles that are often fluid
( i.e., IA or UXD) as opposed to roles that are, relatively speaking, more
standardized (i.e., Usability Engineering or Interaction Design).
