RSS is information presented linearly and then disappears.
You still have to go to the actual blog to browse, read
the archives, or read more on a specific topic.

No.
An RSS feed contains entries with HTML. Sure, it means
in-page CSS styling but it's better than nothing. Some
RSS readers over-ride the styles but at least you can
attempt to make it look better.
I have a graphical layout for my RSS feed which tells
people I've added to my jewellery shop. It's a bespoke
feed duplicating tagging functionality in the shop.

I built my blog from scratch five years ago and so I have
the luxury of being able format RSS feeds any way I like.
This includes appending linked tags and a [find similar
entries] link to my RSS blog entries.
Perhaps we could say that in the same way gopher (textual)
eventually got replaced by the graphical web, maybe RSS
will become more sophisticated in future to allow some more
formatting and feed-specific additions.
