YOU ARE INVITED TO CELEBRATE MICHIGAN WORLD USABILITY DAY 

DATE: Thursday, November 8, 2007

LOCATION: Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center, East Lansing, Michigan

Michigan State University's Usability & Accessibility Center and the 
Michigan Usability Professionals' Association (MI-UPA) have organized World 
Usability Day for Michigan, one of many such events that will join over 170 
locations in more than 35 countries to promote World Usability Day on 
Thursday, November 8, 2007. This is the third statewide celebration of World 
Usability Day and MSU's Fifth Annual Usability & Accessibility Event. 

The focus for World Usability Day 2007 is healthcare. Whether it's new 
medical devices or technologies; drug research, approval, or delivery; 
patient forms or medical records sharing; emergency disaster planning; 
increasing the functionality of hospitals; or everyday healthcare delivery, 
EVERYONE is affected by usability in healthcare.

Workshop A:
Designing Usable Healthcare Web Applications
Speaker: Jason Withrow, Business Analyst, University of Michigan Health 
System, and Faculty, Washtenaw Community College 

Workshop B:
Winning with Usable Software in Life Science Research
Speakers: Richard Sheridan, President, Menlo Innovations, and Jennifer 
Baird, President and CEO, Accuri Cytometers

Session 5:

TOURS, MSU USABILITY & ACCESSIBILITY CENTER (Kellogg Center, East Lansing)
Tours of the Usability & Accessibility Center will be offered throughout the 
morning, lasting about 15 minutes. Meet in the UAC reception area (Room 93, 
Garden Level). Demonstrations of adaptive technology will also be offered. 

WORK-IN-PROGRESS POSTER SESSION
The Work-in-Progress Poster Session is an ideal venue for showcasing 
innovative work in its early stages that may benefit from discussion with 
usability experts from both academia and industry. We encourage researchers 
to submit their work-in-progress, present their valuable ideas, and enrich 
the usability and accessibility knowledge gained by the attendants. The 
theme of this year's World Usability Day poster session is usability,
