Hello

The variations you have seen on those sites probably reflects the fact 
that you can never be sure exactly what someone gets above the fold. 
They may not have their windows maximised, they may or may not have a 
scrollbar, windows may have wider borders in some operating systems 
etc. It's really up to the browser and the user how much space they 
give to the content pane.
