Description

 

The Information Architect (IA) is responsible for developing the best
possible user experience for websites, internet-based applications, and
interactive modules. The IA will work with team members and end users to
gather requirements to drive solutions. The IA collaborates with team
members on site concepts, experience models, organizational models,
navigation systems, and interface designs. Key deliverables include
experience briefs, audience profiles and personas, organizational
models, workflows diagrams, wireframes, and clickable prototypes.

 

Requirements:

 

 

Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with the client. 

Conduct end user needs assessment and task analysis. 

Conduct business needs assessment. 

Work with client to gain an understanding of the business model, key
drivers, and measurements of success. 

Develop a solution strategy that aligns with and supports business needs
and end user goals. 

Perform heuristic evaluations and competitive product analysis. 

Working with fellow team members, create and revise information
architecture documents including but not limited to experience briefs,
site maps, user profiles, user scenarios, use cases, wireframes, content
matrices, flow diagrams, and detailed functional requirements. 

Working with team members, create information structure and navigation
flows for internet, extranet, and intranet sites as well as other online
applications. 

Clearly and concisely, present various stages of the information
architecture development to the client. 

Help conduct usability testing and other user validation exercises. 

Understand and apply the latest user experience trends and best
practices for addressing design challenges. 

Help drive proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and customer
expectations in support of new business. 

 

 

Experience/Skill Requirements

Minimum of 2 - 3 years in depth experience with the following:
information architecture and user-centered design processes, techniques,
and tools; professional writing for interactive experiences; interactive
design; interface design; and usability testing 

Experience working in a collaborative, team-based, iterative environment


Familiarity with design standards 

Excellent customer service attitude, communication skills (written and
verbal), and interpersonal skills 

Strong knowledge of web browser capabilities across multiple platforms 

Fluency in Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Office software products 

Strong organizational skills 

Strong presentation skills 

Consulting experience positive, but not required 

Education/Training Requirements

Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in a related field, such as
human-computer interaction, visual design, product design, interaction
design, or technical communication or commensurate work experience
