Most of my apps are designed this way as well.
But this is a deadly sin if you are designing a large-scale app with heavy
transactions on the back-end: auto-saving continuously will absolutely bring
the system to its knees in short order, with misaligned data integrity, DB
bottlenecks, racing conditions, aborted commits all over the place, and so
on.
