or use a mouse in your left-hand, but are actually right handed?

basing click-options solely on predominant handedness seems a little odd to me

That's overwhelmingly trumped by the operating system conditioning: On Macs
the default button is the right-most one, as if virtually trying to get
closer to your right-handed mouse. Anything else is just not even wrong.
