Eric, I would encourage you to view the ixda site as a resource for
practitioners, the new ui allows for novel access to the archives.

That begs the question, should the design promote new comments from
new users.  That is debatable.  Barriers to entry and all that.

I'm thinking that 'new users' who have goals like 'learn more about
ixd' might utilise the search functionality (inc tagging) of the
archives.  And, tongue firmly planted in cheek, old hands should know
better and think in terms of persona, tasks & goals.

I just cant see a practitioner making a 500mS snap call on the beta
site, and I'm open to being convinced thats a plausible scenario.
