[Sigia-l] usability folks: screen readers?

Hi all,

A friend of the family has macular degeneration. This has recently
progressed to the point of near-profound blindness. She and her husband live
in a rural area and are not familiar with the latest advances in screen
readers and so forth. Can the list recommend any screen reading programs for
PC? The machine is a year or two old, so that's probably not a problem.
