Hey all,
So, I've become the UX director at a new company, and first thing I
have to do is bring in a couple of great information architects. It's
stupidly hard to find good people. It's not that hard to find IAs, but
it is hard to find the stars.
I can't really write a "we're so great, come join our team" kind of
email, because I'm not a recruiter - it's just that leaving it to the
HR at my company isn't getting the kind of candidates I need, so here
I am doing it my own bloody self. I can say that it's a major agency,
and has worldwide offices, if that helps any.
I am trying to create an IA department with a diversity of
backgrounds, so that everyone can learn new things from each other.
Ideally, my department will end up with IAs that come variously from
library science, engineering, design, strategy, and human factors/HCI.
I'm also hiring for a dedicated content strategist. The best
description I've heard for this position is "as IA is to design,
Content Strategists are to writers."
If anyone thinks they'd be a candidate, or knows an outstanding IA who
might be, please write to me - jayson.elliot at gmail.com. Thanks!
