I think that it is a great way of presenting the options - once you've
figured out how to use it - but I am not sure that this is a bad thing
(and I know this sounds crazy, I have a head cold and perhaps it is
the fever talking) - there is an element of fun involved, and a small
sense of achievement for having worked it out. Normally I would say
"if the client has to play with it to get it to work then you've lost"
but just maybe the element of play is there in a good way.

I am not sure what you would call this sliding menu paradigm - don't
iPOD menus work like this? The only other time I have seen anything
close was on the blidget (blog widget) builder on widgetbox.com.
