The British Columbia Institute of Technology is looking for a
temporary, full-time Web Producer and Project Manager (Intermediate
Systems Analyst), Web Services. Working with our distributed content
publishing team, you will plan new approaches to web communications
consistent with the principles of information architecture, and help
clients adhere to publishing standards and style guides.
The Web Producer and Project Manager will coordinate and implement
projects within the BCIT web environment. Working in a project team,
you will develop new websites and assist in maintaining existing
websites. You will work with BCIT clients to design and deliver
web-based communication solutions. In addition, you will assist in the
oversight of a distributed web publishing community including client
support and mentoring.
Required Qualifications
* Minimum two-year diploma in Computer Systems / Web Development or
bachelor's degree in science or business
* Minimum three years of current, practical experience, of which at
least two demonstrate web project development experience, preferably
in an educational setting
* Experience with web content management systems workflow
* Demonstrated web usability design and information architecture skills
* Familiarity with requirements definition, site mapping and client interaction
* Proficiency in authoring and editing (X)HTML and CSS documents
without the assistance of web editors
* Experience with Content Management System administration
* Experience producing and maintaining online materials, training
manuals, user documentation, guidelines, reports and promotional
materials
* Excellent communication, facilitation and consultative support skills
* Proven ability to support clients both in person and by phone
* In-depth experience with Microsoft Office, Visio, and HTML editors,
Adobe Acrobat Professional
* Ability to develop schedules, action plans, and implementation
guidelines for web content development.
Experience in the following would also be an asset
* Marqui CMS
* AJAX
* Adobe Photoshop
* Usability testing
Attributes
* Strong attention to detail, customer focused, ability to learn and
adapt quickly and with ease.
* A highly enthusiastic and effective oral/written communicator with
excellent English verbal and written communications skills. A team
player, enjoys working with people
* Well-organized, methodical approach
* Keen interest in Internet technology
* Good sense of humour and an ability to prevent absurdity from
affecting a commitment to results
* Energetic, motivated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly,
fierce desire to meet deadlines.
TERM OF APPOINTMENT: ASAP until September 30, 2007 (with the
possibility of extension)
SALARY RANGE: $45,010 to $61,755 per annum (Placement based on
education and experience)
