interesting, when I read this from Eric, my first thought was that I agreed
because we really don't hear a lot of talk from this community about
"aesthetics". Being findable or learnable or re-findable are nice, but it
speaks to the level of the functional. I can achieve a task, a goal, etc.
But is the path I took no matter how easy it was for me to get there
"enjoyable". I.e. gaming makes enjoyable experiences out of reducing
findability.
I have written a few bits on the aesthetics of interaction, but I have not
found (and would be interested in finding) something on the aesthetics of
information architecture. I wonder if the "way finding" community has stuff
on this.
