[Sigia-l] Dress Code

I'm glad to see a little attention being paid to
women's dress. Men tend to like a uniform -- even if
that uniform is jeans and a shirt. Women have many
more choices, making it much more difficult.
At my last job, the company was huge and we didn't
have many 'customers' wandering through the place, so
I could wear jeans on occasion. Where I work now is
one building and the execs all wear suits. Many men
wear ties without jackets (particularly in the
summer). We're in Texas and it does get really hot in
the summer.. and while the building may not be hot,
going outside can melt even the heartiest.
I see many women in skirts and shoes without hose.
There are plenty of women with skirts and hose,
although rarely do I join them! Mostly I wear slacks
and blouses or sweaters. The colder it is outside,
the more layers I wear. At is warms up (inside or out)
I remove layers as necessary. Even if the only person
who sees me all day is my office mate, I wear business
to business casual because that is the standard.
If I go to the client's office, I take it up a notch.
