Positions available in Mountain View, CA, Santa Monica, CA, New York, NY,
and Kirkland, WA.
 
Contribute directly to Google's bottom line by designing excellent
interfaces for Google AdWords, AdSense, and other complex web-based
applications. We are looking for Interaction Designers to help take Google's
applications to the next level. In this position, you'll get the opportunity
to become an expert in the online advertising domain, and you'll design
interfaces that simplify complicated concepts and processes. You'll lead
design on your own projects and work closely with other designers for
support, cross-project integration, and high-level design work. Our ideal
candidate will be excited about becoming an advertising domain expert and
shaping the future of these products.
 
The ideal candidate will have some of the following:
    * Previous design work in financial, enterprise, CRM, or similar space.
    * Expertise in complex workflow.
    * Knowledge of the advertising industry.
    * Interest or experience in information visualization.
    * Experience designing products which have to scale elegantly, or
accommodate multiple distinct user groups with very different needs.
    * Background in educational design; help centers, contextual help,
tutorials, etc.
 
Responsibilities:
    * Working closely with Product Management and Engineering to define
product direction.
    * Leading design of the user model and user interface for features and
products in the advertising space.
    * Developing high level and/or detailed storyboards, mockups and
prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
    * Gauging the usability of new and existing features, and making
suggestions for change.
    * Becoming an expert on the profiles and needs of our advertisers, and
finding ways to improve their experience.
 
Qualifications:
    * Solid academic background in human-computer interaction or related
field.
    * Demonstrated experience in designing usable web-based application
interfaces.
    * Ability to produce hi-fidelity HTML mockups.
    * Strong visual design sense.
    * Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
