Is pricing part of marketing? Is pricing part of advertising? Is pricing
part of branding? Is pricing part of public relations? Is pricing part of
accounting? Is pricing part of the legal department, or the compliance
department?

Pricing is a business decision that incorporates all of these modes of
thinking and many more, and yes including to a tiny degree design. It's not
wholly "part of" design, however, and although businesses would be wise to
seek design advice on product pricing, a company would be foolish to let a
person who has spent years of their life practicing and studing the fields
of design be the main arbiter of pricing for products or services.

> Business = Design = Business.

Or maybe you really mean "Design = Everything"

Show Ziya anything, and he'll say "design owns it". I say designers have
great minds and can, with some non-design specialized training, tackle
anything and with their designer's thinking can make a big difference... but
when they do so, they are no longer really practicing design when they do
so.

Design is actually something specific. It is a word that represents hundreds
or even thousands of years of craftsmanship, specialized thinking,
historical movements, styles, methodologies, institutions, publications,
thinkers and geniuses. Design is a specific thing that millions of people
train themselves to do so that they can be great at it. Design is it's own
thing.

Design = Design
