[Sigia-l] Certification

I ran a formal certification process previously and it is a very complicated
process of testing, test development, and EEO review of the questions.  Very
complicated and expensive procedure to administer.

I think (hope?) when folks are saying certification, they mean something
less that what I ran previously.  Normally, because the programs are so
expensive, they also entail continuing ed requirements or re-testing so
there is the cash flow to cover the program costs.  

Back in the 1980's my cost for the program was $3-400,000 per year.  Cost to
those taking the test was c. $150-200.

And that could quickly lead to a new discussion of "defining IA."
