And when the iPhone is sold outside the U.S. it WILL have 3G. Geez, why is
this so difficult to understand?

I'd be happy to discuss iTunes/iPod in a separate thread, but the iPhone can
play video off the internet, as Jobs demonstrated. So I have no idea why
you're speculating that it won't. If you're talking about DRM'ed video,
that's an issue separate from 3G. The iPhone can switch seamlessly between
2G (and later 3G) and WiFi (which is faster than 2G or 3G). The mode of
transmission is a moot point in *this* regard. FYI, the principal purpose of
going through iTunes for iPhone is the bane of all mobile gadgets: syncing.
About a 100 million people already know how to do that via iTunes, and Apple
is leveraging that.

What I find truly remarkable is that Steve Jobs and the rest of his crew,
instead of relying on luck, did a remarkable amount of work to make sure the
iPhone succeeds. They may or may not need luck, but they sure have done one
heck of a job. (Your 3G comment was either woefully uninformed or a cheap
shot. Frankly, I'm surprised that it came from you.)
