Screen resolution is a moot point. It's browser window size you want.
Install Mint (http://haveamint.com) on your site and use the browser
window Pepper. It shows the sizes of the browser windows visitors are
using when coming to your site.

Here's mine:
Width Height
100% > 584	99%> 410
99% > 744	95% > 530
88% > 968	95% > 530
52% > 1096	76% > 598
13% > 1344	67% > 630
12% > 1384	57% > 684
6% > 1544	55% > 700
4% > 1624	46% > 730
1% > 1824	35% > 800
			28% > 830
			9% > 890
			5% > 938
			5% > 954
			<1% > 1130

In theory, theory and practice are the same.
In practice, they are not.
