[Sigia-l] Can Usability get a CUE?

So Jared makes three "radical" recommendations to usability folks:

ving.pdf>

#1 is necessary if he wants to have any designer friends. :-)
#2 won't work in corporate America in the main.
#3 is, well, open-ended to say the least.

I wonder how all this was taken by the usability community.

And I agree with Jared about this not going far enough:

"Symantec¹s Director of User Research and Testing,
Meghan Ede, takes a different approach with her team
of researchers. She¹s instituted a policy that each
researcher should be willing to bet their personal life
savings on every recommendation they make. If they
aren¹t willing to place the bet, the recommendation
doesn¹t go into the results reported to the team."

Yes, why stop there: why not the would-be recommender's right hand chopped
off or left eye gouged as a bet? Money for nothin'.
