I think it's possible that laziness is a factor, but perhaps not in
the manner you suggest. It seems to me that Mr. Biyani is saying that
his customers *want* to do some work while shopping, rather than
having everything handed to them without a thought. (Of course, by
eliminating haggling, he's only meeting them half-way). Our
one-price-per-product stores, where everything is laid out neatly,
offer a much more passive experience for the shopper. But maybe this
simply means that we prefer to be lazy shoppers. Maybe their slogan is
"Don't make me a zombie" rather than "Don't make me think."
