Luca Rosati:

> between women and men

In the ooold days we used to play a little game in the studio: guessing if a
design was done on a PC or a Mac. Checking gradation execution, quality of
Bezier lines, typeface selection, clipart usage, whitespace, etc., you could
tell if Illustrator/FreeHand on a Mac or some awful DTP app with Corel on a
PC was used. My batting average was well around .90.

Then we did the same for male/female. My batting avg went down to .65. Still
not too shabby.

About three months ago I reviewed my large collection of screenshots of web
design I like. Among other factors, I also noticed that (of the ones I know)
the vast majority was from men, even though I like to work with women better
in general.

Other than Andrew :-) I'd assume that the vast majority of Hello Kitty
merchandize buyers are women, but I'd also guess perhaps the majority of
their designs are done by men. After so many years the iVillage.com homepage
is still that gross pink. :-)

This is certainly a murky area.
