Punchcut (http://www.punchcut.com) is looking for a senior  
Information Architect/Interaction Designer to join our team on a  
permanent, full-time basis. The IA/ID should have a strong  
understanding of the user-centered design process and be equally  
comfortable working independently and alongside other design team  
members. The ideal candidate should have 5 years of experience  
designing interfaces for Web-based or mobile products and/or services  
and feel comfortable working in a fast-paced, creative agency  
environment.

Responsibilities
- Perform primary and secondary user research
- Develop conceptual UI models
- Develop personas, scenarios and storyboards
- Define user task and interaction flows
- Create screen-level interaction designs
- Write user interface specifications that capture proposed designs  
in detail
- Work with a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate the feasibility of  
proposed solutions

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years designing effective interfaces for Web-based or mobile  
applications
- Undergraduate degree in relevant field and/or equivalent work  
experience
- Experience performing a variety of forms of user research  
(contextual inquiry, focus groups, usability testing, etc.)
- Strong understanding of the user-centered design process
- Ability to communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale to  
other members of the design, development and client teams
- Working experience with appropriate design tools including Visio,  
OmniGraffle, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc. as they relate to  
documenting interaction flows and screen-level features and  
functionality
- Focused attention to detail
- Sense of humor and positive, flexible attitude
- Ability to multi-task and work on several small-to-mid sized  
projects in parallel
- Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills

Desired Qualifications
- Ability to create low or high fidelity prototypes in appropriate  
markup language or technology
- Ability to write use cases for hand-off to engineering
- Domain experience in relevant technologies (J2ME, WAP/WML, SMS/MMS)  
and platforms (J2ME, Symbian, Microsoft Smartphone)
- Experience designing for web-based, client software and/or product  
interfaces (such as set-top boxes)
- Advanced degree in relevant field
