Hello all,
Just saw this brief slideshow at eWeek on the Sugar interface for the $100
laptop project.
"Test Driving the $100 Laptop's Interface"
http://www.eweek.com/slideshow/0,1206,a=205057,00.asp
Not that it was in any way a thorough walk-through, but I was immediately
struck by how conventional it seems. I guess I was expecting something a
little bit different considering how the system will be deployed across so
many diverse languages, cultures and socio-economic groups.
But then again, I'm neither a designer nor a serious UX expert. I know there
was an extensive debate about this issue a few months ago, but now that the
laptop is out there, what are people's impressions?
Cheers,
geoff
