In a strange "life replicating art" moment I was confirming that the
Japanese "shibui" really translated to "an economy of elegance" before
using the phrase on my blog to describe the Miranda July site that was
the starting subject of this thread - and of the three machine
translation sites I went to, one crashed Firefox, one didn't contain
"shibui", and one gave a vaguely matching description. Perhaps a
little too economical in their elegance.
Is it fair to say that there is precious little shibui in the
translation website game? :)
Cheers, Andrew
