I really hope you're referring to metadata and not something a site
visitor actually sees.

A new client of ours was suckered into an SEO project last year
during which an enthusiastic copywriter filled the pages with
keywords, trigger-words, buzzwords, and other words to tie the whole
mess together.

The result?

Many more hits.
Better page rank.
Far less average time on site.
Significantly lower conversion rate.

The client has now rolled back the site to an earlier version -
poorer but wiser.

Lesson? You cannot bore your visitors to death. Concise content will
always win out over expedient content.

Best,
Eric
