I suppose there's a difference between working "with" people and 
"telling them what to do."

You should, in fact, worry about this human dimension of any project. Of 
course, the developers should *also* respect the IA/Design end of things.

Working with people is a two way street, and one that involves very 
human interactions -- something that's difficult to design due to its 
highly variable nature.
