Of course, not. You could be "bean counters, and other assorted people in
white coats with slide rules," as I said.
What is common to "these" people (including MBAs) is the way they don't grok
design as business strategy or the way they put on their metrics blinders.
Some of "these" people are literally malicious frauds. They mean to fleece
hapless corporate management and often succeed. Some, however, do it without
even realizing it because that's what they have seen and known in their
particular metrics/best practice/buzz-word culture, which was Joel's point.
I have nothing against MBAs as a phylum, just the ones who think that
metrics (alone) can be a substitute for design as business strategy. That
the number of the latter is proportionally high may be a coincidence. :-)
