Information Architect

 

Job Description

The Information Architect is a member of the User Experience Design 

team that works closely with Product Management, business owners, 

IT and Product Design to ensure that the AutoTrader.com consumer 

site and other web-based products meet business objectives, support 

the brand and are useful, intuitive and desirable to users.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

* Participate as a member of a collaborative team to develop 

  high-level design & direction that guides detailed design efforts. 

* Create documentation & visualizations that communicate high-level 

  design and direction.

 

Qualifications:

* College or university degree in Information Design, Human Factors, 

  Human-Computer Interaction, or related field strongly preferred.

* 4+ year experience in Information Architecture and concept 

  development. At least 2 years applying these skills to web-based 

  design.

* Familiarity with the principles of user-centered design.

* Familiarity with current user experience and usability research, 

  theories, best practices and methodologies.

* Knowledge of web user-interface technology.

* Knowledge of design tools including Visio and MS Office Suite

* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
