Just so that it's easier to find someone: don't limit yourself to past
experience. DB architecture/schema development is pretty much content
agnostic. A good DB architect shouldn't have to worry whether the DB is for
geographical or grocery store or toy manufacturer markets. Also, interface
design to a DB is not *necessarily* the same as DB architecture/schema
design. You may or may not want a data architect and interface designer
rolled into one person. In other words, don't narrow down your choice to a
data architect who is also an interface designer who has also built
geographical systems -- it's unnecessarily self-limiting.
