Say you've been asked to validate a proposed IA (consisting mainly of a
hierarchical site map, designed by some other group) .. how would you go
about it?

Some of the techniques that come to mind are UIE's Category Agreement
Analysis (CAA), closed card sort, Donna Maurer's Card Based Classification
Evaluation, Heuristic Evaluation (link length, grouping, etc) ...

Have you ever been asked to validate the IA of a site structure, and what
techniques did you use? Which techniques did you find to provide more
quantifiable results, especially repeatable results? What are some of the
things you would steer away from?
