Simple is good, but the functionality Google provides with those
related links can be quite useful. For instance, I have often found
myself looking at the cached version when the original result has
changed its content or gone stale. On the other hand, as a frequent
user, I am pretty good at ignoring those links when I have no use for
them. It would be interesting to try to determine empirically whether
the related links are as helpful to the "general user population".
