While I respect your opinion and defend your right to express it, I
would not presume, and neither should you, to dictate what people say
here. 

This list is what it is. Every member has equal rights to post to it.
Not recognising that fact betrays a lack of understanding of what a
community mailing list *is.* 

As to whether "many IAs" have been put off this list because off-topic
postings - that's surely a moot point.
