Grrr. This posting has caused me pain. One of my favorite technical PMs
sent me the link because he thought it spoke to the idea of simple
interfaces are better. Imagine the situation when I said the author has
his head up his arse. 

The PM conceded quickly that Google is "designed" but could not see how
Craig's list might have a design team. It took asking why no green or
black is used that he started to get the idea. I can only hope he didn't
send the url to the engineering team.
