This isn't as crazy an idea as it seems.

A large percentage of people sit at a desk all day in a similar  
manner as an organist sits at an organ or a drummer sits at a drum  
kit or a driver at a steering wheel. Why not add pedals to the floor  
that could do some sort of limited functionality? A single pedal or  
set of three pedals that executed Expose commands (show desktop, for  
instance) could be pretty handy.
