User Interface Design Intern

Job Description
The User Interface Design Intern is an individual contributor in the Product
Development Organization reporting to the User Interface Design Manager.
This internship is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on product design
experience working on software and web-based applications.

Primary Responsibilities
.Create wireframes in Visio, Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Illustrator
.Document designs in MS Word
.Translate requirements, creative feedback and direction into tactical
designs
.Create prototypes
.Assist usability team with creating, administering and reporting on tests


Required Skills/Education
.Critical thinker with a strong sense for visual design
.Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash (nice to have), Visio,
Omnigraffle
.Perspectives on current visual design trends, their impact on software
design and end user interaction, and their implications for the design and
development of enterprise software
.Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage and
convey ideas to cross-functional technical and non-technical teams
.A basic understanding of web and software technologies
.Ability to effectively take direction and complete assignments
.Ability to effectively work within a team environment
.Detail-oriented

College Coursework: 
Jr or Sr. (or recent graduate) with focus on a degree in one of the
following preferred: Visual Design, Graphics Design, Interaction Design,
Interface Design, Product Design, Human Factors Engineering, Industrial
Design, Computer Science or related programs

Minimum 3.5 GPA

Pay $14.00 - $18.00 per hour, depending on level of experience.

Hours: 25 -35 hrs week during summer, flexible to extend internship into
fall term. (minimum 4 hour shifts)
