Publicis Dialog NY's interactive division has been tasked by one of
the largest consumer packaged goods companies in the world to
re-imagine its premier kids' virtual world and gaming website. This
site is by many measures one of the largest and most popular
children's websites. We need a rockstar freelance user experience
designer/IA to join a team that will be fully dedicated to this
project for the next several months. Planning kicks off on July 24th
and will continue through the end of September, with the opportunity
for continuing employment through subsequent design and development
phases. This requires a full-time, on-site commitment.

The ideal candidate will:
have several years' experience as the lead IA for large and complex
website development projects
be extremely independent and self-directed
be able to lead and direct research, planning and solution development efforts
be able to deal directly with clients from management to C level
have experience with children's gaming sites and MUDs, MUVEs or other
virtual worlds
have a broad and deep skill set encompassing research, planning, core
IA and testing

Planning phase tasks and deliverables will include:
Stakeholder interviews.
Primary research: polls, surveys, usability testing, and online focus groups.
Secondary and third-party research.
General research including: immersion in the virtual world of the
site, exploring how the culture of this website has spilled into the
rest of the online world (discussion groups, spin-off sites, etc.).
Competitive analysis.
Content analysis and audit.
Weblog analysis.
Brainstorm and concept development facilitation.
Requirements development and prioritization, including workshops with
the client.

Candidate will have the opportunity to stay with the effort through
subsequent phases, which will involve core IA activities (site maps,
wireframes, interaction models, specifications) working with the
design, content and development teams, etc.
