There's a lot of fresh blood out there, all scratching at the door.
You know how most sites on the web were built by someone's brother for
£100? And how your teenage nephew can build a flash site in an
afternoon? There's a lot of people out there who will be looking for
experience and willing to work for a lower rate (although $30 is v.
low!) in order to get on the ladder. Some of them will even turn out
to be quite good.

Quick, run for the hills...
