So they don't have to hire designers. 

Seriously, though, what Gabriel has described is basically "Lab-Coat-IA" in
it's "purest" form, an idealistic methodology in which a product's design
can be derived experimentally with no soft "expert" opinions, no abstract
"heuristics", and no inspired "design" concepts. I think "ad absurdum" is
more appropriate than "ad infinitum".
