I've always felt that a good IA could replace a BA, but a good BA
could never replace an IA. With that in mind, and my experience in
Australian government work, I'd say that if you're hired as an IA
you're pretty unique; it seems like all of these things is rolled up
in the job role of "BA". If you're in deep luck, you'll get a BA with
some understanding of IA but mostly you don't. I think in the Aus
government sector there needs to be an awareness that IA's even exist
and should be required as a separate job description alltogether.
