I am not the author of the document. Perhaps you want to write to Mills Davis directly with your perspective.
I present educational forums to address these types of issues without pushing a specific agenda. I made that document available to people who are interested in learning something about one of the presenters. I have not had a chance to read it yet, but included the link with the mailing.
My question is "Is this the next big thing, or a bunch of hype?"
I imagine it is somewhere in between.
If the presenter is pushing something you consider to be snake oil, then you won't have any interest in attending. If you think there are trends that may affect you and you want to try to separate the possible from the practical, then perhaps you want to attend. I have heard that Mills is a good presenter.
Perhaps the way this sentence is worded does not resonate you. The author is asserting that leveraging "semantic technology" will have a substantial impact on business.

How about you actually tell people here what it is rather than wasting out
time with what smells like snake oil?

" The guide is organized as follows:
Semantic wave — Introduces “distributed intelligence” as a long wave of
investment involving fundamental shifts in paradigm, technology, and
economics. Depicts the cumulative economics of the semantic wave. "
Etc.
Can people write things like that with a straight face? It's as clear as mud
and essentially written in business speak in it's worst form. In short, if
the people behind this idea can't write intelligent English instead of
advertorial gibberish why should anyone take it seriously?
