Position Overview
The User Interface Architect is a member of the Product Strategy team and is responsible for all aspects of the user experience of our software products. You will facilitate requirements gathering, create high level and detailed storyboards, mockups and prototypes to effectively communicate designs and validate usability studies. Additionally, you will create and enforce the style guide that ensures cohesiveness across multiple products, and design the technical architecture to achieve reusable and flexible user interfaces. 
 
Key Responsibilities
In this role you are tasked with the responsibility of eliciting user interaction requirements for web-based systems, and creating both a consistent architecture as well as the graphic designs that work well across various software products. You will also create, maintain and evangelize the UI Style Guidelines across the company. You will accomplish your objectives through various usability methodologies, task analysis, storyboarding, contextual analysis, user testing and adherence to industry guidelines. You will also apply your expertise of the latest web technologies to design state-of-the-art systems. 
 
Required Background
A demonstrated track record of facilitating user interaction requirements definition, architecture development, and evangelizing solutions is required. The ideal candidate will possess an expert knowledge of usability methodologies, tools for storyboarding, modeling user interactions, and creating UI prototypes. 
 
Candidates should possess an advanced degree in Human Factors/Usability or a minimum of 5 years experience in usability and on-line interaction design. 
 
Demonstrated experience in modern web application UI development.
 
Experience with User Interface Design tools such as Photoshop; Illustrator; Flash; and Dreamweaver are also required. 
 
You must be a self-starter, have a passion for function over form, and have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills. 
 
Must be local to the San Diego, CA area.
