[Sigia-l] eye tracking?

Hey folks, 

As it's my first post to the list (after lurking for a while) I thought
a quick introduction was in order. I work in-house as an IA and web
designer for a subscription-based online financial news service. The IA
part of my job has increased over the last few years from quite an
ad-hoc basis initially to a more official part of project planning
(depending for vaguaries of senior management and business planning).

As part of this expansion, i want to persuade the company to invest in
some eye-tracking equipment: we have diverse content, a brochureware
site, and our business model relies quite heavily on cross-promotion of
products; i think all these areas could benefit from eye tracking
analysis.

(not to mention our print marketing & email communications, but i don't
want to start an interdepartmental spat just yet ;) )

I've done a bit of googling, but i thought the list might have some
personal recommendations for hardware to choose (rather than relying on
manufacturers' sites). Also if you've got any eye-tracking war stories..
all advice is appreciated.
