Peter Boersma:

> but never as Designer...

Incidentally, Some days ago I posted a link regarding the hiring of Bill
Buxton by Microsoft. Here are a few page titles announcing the event:

Microsoft hires user interface guru | Tech News on ZDNet
Microsoft Research hires UI expert | Builder UK
Microsoft Hires GUI 'Design Guru' | Slashdot
News: Microsoft Research Hires UI Visionary | ENT News
Microsoft recruits user interface expert | Yahoo! UK & Ireland News
[...]

Reading these, and many others, one would think this guy's a Designer. :-)
Yet when you look at his last three jobs before joining Microsoft, Buxton
was:

Chief scientist at Bruce Mau Design
Ass prof of computer science at the University of Toronto
Chief scientist of Alias|Wavefront

He is, in other words, a scientist. And people expect him to solve
large-scale interface/interaction problems at Microsoft. Which, I say, is a
Designer's domain, so good for him. :-)
