Information Architect / Usability Testing Manager
Needham, MA
My Client is looking for an experienced Information Architect / Usability
Testing Manager to join our production team.
Key responsibilities:
. Working in collaboration with our project managers, developers and
designers, suggest page flows, create page layouts in wireframe form and
advise on all other aspects of UI design.
. Collect input from stakeholders and help us transform strategic business
ideas into products that are user-friendly and meet business goals.
. In addition to being a major contributor to new product initiatives,
identify and put together plans to address existing usability issues on
TripAdvisor.com.
. Manage the companies user testing program; establish ongoing user testing
benchmarks
. Design, conduct / supervise, analyze and present results of internal
testing.
. When appropriate, select and collaborate with outside vendors for
large-scale user testing.
. Maintain knowledge of current best practices in user interface design /
information architecture, usability theory and testing techniques.
. Your goal is to make my client the most usable and user-friendly travel
website in the world.
Requirements:
. At least three years' total web design/development/production experience,
including at least two years of personally supervising a usability / user
testing program at a major website.
. Experience developing and conducting tests, collating and analyzing
results (frequently working with raw data from log files) and creating
reports on user behavior trends.
. The ability to communicate effectively with members of different
departments in the company (e.g., engineering, marketing).
. A sense of pragmatism and the ability to prioritize usability enhancements
according to ROI.
. Extensive knowledge of HTML and CSS (so as to know the limitations of this
medium) and up-to-date knowledge of web design standards and best practices.
